Tromsø Rowclub is still looking for a boathouse. Our present location for the boats is not ideal and the snow that probably soon arrives will become a problem. Help us!
We have already contacted many owners of boathouses without success. We are still working on a few possibilities, but it is not looking very promising.

Rotur fredag aften

The first times on the water around Tromsø
We started to row in late July and here is a picture from one of the very first tours, where Katrine and I took the boat from Telegrafbukta up to Hamna and back. It was a splendid day.
A few days later I took Timothy out in a row boat for the very first time. It is Timothy in the blue T-shirt holding the camera and me (Søren) in the yellow T-shirt. As you can see on the mirror-like water surface it was sunny without a wind. Perfect conditions for learning to row. Timothy catches on very fast and with some practice he will soon become a skilled oarsman.
Timothy also took this picture of me "taking a walk" with the boat, as we approace the beach at Bukta, where we put it in the water.

Time for an update 2
The website has been quiet some weeks, but that is not because nothing has happened. On the contrary, so much has been going on that I havn't had much time for writing here.
I spent the past three weeks organizing and executing the boat transport from Oslo to Tromsø. It was a looong drive and I also had to return the car and trailer to Oslo. I will tell the story later, today I just want to say that back in May I wrote:
"There are two main priorities for Tromsø Roklubb right now.
1) Transporting the boats from Oslo to Tromsø
2) Finding a boat house for the rowing club"
Now we can check off the first and fokus on finding or establishing a permanent boat house.

Today I received a preliminary trailer license, so now we can proceed with planning of the boat transport! E-mails are flying back and forth between Oslo and Tromsø.
