Tromsø Roklubb recruits members

I am an experienced rower from Denmark, who has just moved to Tromsø. Unfortunately, Tromsø is missing a rowing club, so I will start Tromsø Roklubb.

I am already in contact with the Norwegian Rowing Federation (roing.no), which helps me to acquire used rowing boats for the club. We already have 3 old wooden rowing boats.

I know how to repair wooden rowing boats, so I can restore the old boats myself. Training in the traditional craft techniques behind the construction and repair of rowing boats will be an activity in the new club.

However, we lack a boathouse. I am in contact with the municipality of Tromsø on the possibility to rent a boathouse. The more rowers we are, the easier it will be to get the municipality to help. If you are interested, write to:

A little about me: I am 31 years old and have rowed since I was 14. I am educated as a rowing  instructor (2000) and long-distance cox (2001) through the Danish Rowing Federation (roning.dk). Over the years I have trained hundreds of rowers. Now I will train new rowers in Tromsø.

Jeg er en erfaren roer fra Danmark, der netop er flyttet til Tromsø. Desværre mangler byen en roklubb og jeg vil derfor starte Tromsø Roklubb.

Jeg har allerede kontakt til Norges Roforbund (roing.no), som hjælper mig med at anskaffe brugte robåter. Vi har allerede fået 3 gamle robåter i tre.

Jeg har erfaring med reparation af robåter i tre, så jeg kan selv istandsætte de gamle trebåter. Oplæring i de traditionelle håndværks­teknikker bag konstruktion og reparation af robåter bliver en aktivitet i den nye roklubb.

Men vi trenger et båthus. Jeg er i kontakt med Tromsø Kommune om muligheden for at låne/leie et båthus. Jo flere roere vi er, jo lettere vil det være at få kommunen til at hjælpe. Er du interesseret, så skriv til:

Lidt om mig: Jeg er 31 år og har roet siden jeg var 14 år. Jeg er uddannet ro-instruktør (år 2000) og langtursstyrmand (år 2001) gennem Dansk Forening for Rosport (det danske roforbund, roning.dk). Igennem årene har jeg trænet hundredvis af roere. Nu vil jeg træne nye roere i Tromsø.
